When can I get one?
CoolerDown launches on Kickstarter on November 14, 2026. The first 100 early birds get it for $70, then $80 during the campaign, instead of the $99.99 retail price. Leave your email below and we'll let you know the minute it's live.
Is there a monthly fee?
No monthly fee. The app is free, and text alerts are free for the first year. After that, texting is $19.99 a year for your first cooler and $4.99 a year for each additional cooler.
Do I have to drill a hole?
Yes, one 1/2" hole, so the probe can sit in the cold air while the unit stays outside where WiFi works. A silicone seal fills the hole. If you ever move the unit, the box includes plugs and stickers to close it up.
Where should I drill?
Usually the upper side wall, in the front half, about 3 to 4 inches back from the door opening. Stay away from the back and compressor side, door frame heater wires and panel seams. The card in the box walks you through it, and you can always find a pro.
What happens if the WiFi or power goes out?
CoolerDown runs on its own battery, so a power outage won't stop it. If your WiFi goes down it keeps reading the temperature, keeps trying to reconnect, and the app shows the unit as offline so you know to check.
Does it work in freezers?
Yes. You set the safe range for each unit, from walk-in coolers to deep freezers.
